"I want to be a developer"
Sometimes I wonder if this phrase from the job interview was the reason why exactly I was chosen among other people to be accepted to work in the company. Seriously, I performed really so-so, answered some questions and didn't answer the others, while being overall extremely nervous and anxious. Could I make a good impression back then?
In the very end of the job interview, they asked me: "what do you plan to do next?". And I said exactly what was in my mind and heart, that, no matter if I'm going to be accepted by their company or not, I will continue to study programming until I'll finally be able to become a good developer. And I was surprised myself how passionate that my phrase from the title sounded in result…
I was trying to control myself, but I guess I failed because of being worried? Who knows. I wanted to become a developer since being 15-16 y.o, I actually love creating my own programs and reading programming-related sites, but after graduation from uni I ended up not being able to find job for more than a year, experiencing constant humilitation from my father, HRs and myself. Of course I want to get a job exactly in this sphere, otherwise I'd give up long time ago!!!
And now it's been more than 4 weeks already, when I'm finally working officially as a trainee PHP backend developer in one of the best companies of the country, but the only thing I wish for is that I'll finally be able to stop being a failure, who constantly fail, fail at everything I touch. I wonder what the person, the head of backend department, who participated in my job interview, thinks about it now… The people here are super kind and nice, and the company is working on very cool projects, so I feel that it's a really rare, precious chance to work in such a dream company, but I wonder if I can do better than I'm doing already. In theory I should use any chance to show everything I can do, but thanks to failures I only start to think more that I actually can't do anything, and, if I'll try to be brave and confident, everybody will see that in reality I have nothing to show.

In this blog, we’ll walk you through the step-by-step process of web application development, infused with industry best practices and actionable insights.
What Is a Web Application?
A web application is an interactive software platform accessible through web browsers. Unlike static websites, web apps deliver dynamic functionalities like user authentication, data management, and real-time interactions. They empower businesses to enhance engagement, optimize processes, and deliver seamless digital experiences.
Examples of web applications include:
E-commerce Platforms: Amazon, Shopify
Social Media Platforms: Facebook, LinkedIn
CRM Tools: Salesforce
Learning Management Systems (LMS): Moodle, Coursera
Whether you're crafting a simple Minimum Viable Product (MVP) or a robust enterprise application, a systematic approach is key to success.
The Web Application Development Process 🚀
Creating a web application involves several well-defined stages. Here's how we approach it at KSoft Technologies:
1. Requirement Gathering and Analysis 🧐
Every project starts with a deep dive into your objectives. We collaborate with stakeholders to answer key questions:
Who is your target audience?
What business challenges will the app solve?
What features are essential?
Through brainstorming, interviews, and research, we craft a detailed roadmap for success.
2. Planning and Strategy 📝
With requirements in hand, we create a solid plan, including:
Wireframes: Blueprints of the app’s layout.
Sitemaps: A structured overview of pages and features.

Prototypes: Using tools like Figma to visualize the user journey.
User-Centered Design: Incorporating feedback for intuitive and accessible interfaces.
4. Development 💻
Development is divided into:
Front-End: Transforming designs into responsive, user-friendly interfaces with tools like React, Angular, or Vue.js.
Back-End: Managing data and logic with robust frameworks like Node.js, Django, or Laravel.
At KSoft, we ensure seamless integration between front-end and back-end components for optimal performance.
5. Testing and Quality Assurance ✅
We leave no stone unturned to ensure your app is flawless:
Functional Testing: Validating features.
Performance Testing: Stress-testing under various loads.
Cross-Browser Testing: Ensuring compatibility across major browsers.
Security Testing: Protecting against vulnerabilities.
6. Deployment 🌐
A successful launch involves:
Configuring servers using platforms like AWS or Azure.
Setting up secure databases like MySQL or MongoDB.
Monitoring performance with tools like Datadog.

Prospective Study: Sea Cucumber Flour as a Food Supplement
Sea cucumbers (holoturia) are considered a dietary delicacy, being widely used in medicinal healing by Asians over the centuries; they are rich in bioactive compounds with the potential to exert several actions in the body, namely: Anticancer, anticoagulant, antihypertensive, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, antioxidant, antithrombotic and antitumor. The sea cucumber drying process, as used for the flour production, maintains their functional properties. Thus, in view of the benefits associated with the consumption of sea cucumber to human health, evidenced by scientific research, a market diagnosis was carried out for its flour as a food supplement. This study aimed to carry out market research to assess the interest of Brazilians in the consumption of sea cucumber flour. Market prospecting research for sea cucumber flour was carried out using the survey monkey tool. The structured questionnaire consisted of ten closed questions, which were answered by 100 people. The public interviewed was heterogeneous: 36% between 15 and 25 years old; 11% between 26 and 35 years old; 12% between 36 and 45 years old, 18% between 46 and 55 years old and 23% of the public over 55 years old. About 97% claimed to have never consumed sea cucumbers or derivatives, but 91% expressed interest in consuming sea cucumber-based flour, given its nutraceutical potential. Among the levels of interest: 33% reasonable, 46% interested and 13% very interested; and 67% indicated the preferential acquisition in capsule form. Regarding the cost for 100g of the product: 64% would pay up to 3.89 dollars, 33% between 4.08 and 5.83 dollars and only 3% would pay more than 5.83 dollars. As for the frequency of consumption: 53% would consume daily. Conclusion: The research indicated market potential for sea cucumber flour, especially in capsules, as a food supplement. However, most of these animals come from extractive fisheries. Thus, it is a challenging task to reconcile the conservation need with the socioeconomic importance of fisheries. In this sense, to encourage the production of these organisms through aquaculture and the sea cucumber flour production with added value, will meet the prospects of the current market that seeks greaterhealthiness through nutrition and/or supplementation and foods with a lower carbon emission.

My Journey from Midterm Pitch to Final Presentation: Embracing Entrepreneurship

After our midterm pitching, our team set our sights on the final presentation. We carefully reviewed all the comments, suggestions, and criticisms from our panel and used them as our guiding inspiration for the final pitch. Unlike our previous pitching, we were determined to elevate our performance. As the pitcher for our team, I felt I had fallen short during the midterms, failing to provide enough detail to convincingly present our startup. Realizing this, I made a personal promise to improve and aim for the top spot in the final pitch.
Days flew by, and the final pitching event arrived. This time, I was filled with confidence instead of nerves. This shift came from the thorough preparation we undertook for this significant event. Together with our SemuLab Team, we crafted a more comprehensive and engaging presentation to win over the panel. During the presentation, excitement buzzed through me. I couldn't help but smile as I recalled how hard we had worked. We answered the panel’s questions effectively and knew we had given our best. While we still faced some unexpected challenges, such as interviewing the university and other departments about subscribing to our product, we decided to tackle these issues in the future.
The most anticipated lecture series soon followed. I had eagerly awaited this event, having heard positive feedback from my seniors. I was excited to meet the speakers and learn from their experiences. However, the lecture series coincided with my mock proposal presentation. I stayed up late to ensure my proposal was top-notch, and it paid off. Despite feeling dizzy and sleepy during the lecture series, I was determined to participate.
The first speaker's presentation captured my attention immediately. Although I had many questions, my shyness and fatigue held me back from asking them, which left me frustrated. However, the second speaker’s dynamic presentation reignited my interest. Her talk was both lively and informative. I learned about "exponential" and "linear" growth, which distinguish SMEs from startups. She highlighted numerous opportunities for aspiring entrepreneurs, which deeply resonated with me. The rest of the speakers were equally engaging, and I became more active in the session. I even got the chance to stand on stage and answer a speaker's question, earning Php 150.00, which covered my dinner for the night.
Reflecting on my journey in this subject, I found it immensely enjoyable. I gained exposure to the world of entrepreneurship and made valuable connections. Now, I can envision myself as an entrepreneur, offering innovative solutions to contemporary problems. This subject instilled a strong will in me to pursue entrepreneurship. While some believe it’s not for everyone, I firmly believe that a physicist can indeed become a successful entrepreneur.
